Our aim is to provide a free, confidential, and informal service, in the North Devon area, offering support to people who wish to overcome personal and social barriers, that they feel, are holding them back from education, training or employment.

"Sam's energy and enthusiasm is contagious and really helped me beleive that I could succeed. She let me develop my own ideas and make my own decisions, without any pressure. She helped me with aspects that I wasn't confident or comfortable enough to do on my own but also gave me independence when I felt more in control. Just knowing that I had someone who I could call or could accompany me to meetings was very reassuring. She helped me through the process of starting a college course and also helped me obtain a grant to start my own business."

"Support has been exemplary, information pertinent and ample, advice sympathetic, appropriate and incisive. [I liked the] commitment and persistence with the assistance given, opportunities opened up."

"Very, very good - practical and inspirational, in the right mix. The latter was really good for me...a desperately needed service."

About Us What We Offer Links Newsletter Social Inclusion

Education Link offers information, advice, guidance and facilitated support to those with mental health issues to access meaningful occupation, employment, voluntary work and training, and support the journey to recovery and well-being.

Education Link works within a recovery model and works with mental health services, (community mental health teams), hospital services, Link Centres, voluntary agencies, work-based providers and employers.  We aim to work with individuals to help them to move forward, maximise their potential and support well-being and recovery.

We work towards making communities more aware of mental health issues, reducing discrimination and helping individuals to join in with their local community.

The project supports welfare and reform to improve appropriate recovery, intervention and incentives for people who wish to move from benefits into work.
The project also works collaboratively with other organisations that can support this process and can facilitate additional support identified.
We work with employers, health and social care professionals and carers to enable individuals to access the right support to enable a positive recovery experience around the journey to learning and work.
